A piece of Grandma's house

As a child, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents.  I have many fond memories - family dinners, playing in the creek, playing in the "rock house", chickens, cows, riding 4-wheelers. We still enjoy the land, but my grandparents and their house are gone.  This coat rack is made from a piece of wood taken from their house when it was being torn down.  My husband added the hooks to the front and a hanger to the back.

I love the rustic look - no sanding, no staining, no cutting.  A piece of Grandma's house.

  1. What a lovely reminder of your grandparents house. So glad you still have the land to enjoyed. But I know you would rather have your grandparents instead.

  2. This is such a sweet idea, Lori. We've made coat hangers and towel racks like this, but yours is obviously priceless! :)

    1. Their house needed to be torn down...this was my way of having a piece of it.
