One of the most popular gifts to give at graduation parties are cards.
As the proud parent of a graduate this year, I wanted to create something unique for people to place those special cards in.
I decided to make a graduation cap card holder.
Supplies needed for this project:
8.5 inch box from the craft store
some card stock (scrapbook) paper in the school's color
button in coordinating color
glue (I used a glue stick, but ended up securing some corners with hot glue)
Cut the paper to size and glued it to the box.
Cut a slit in the box lid for the cards to slide through.
(I'm sure you can do a better straight line than me!)

Center the lid onto a piece of 12x12 scrapbook paper.
Trace the outline of the slit onto the paper, then cut the paper.
Lining up the cuts, glue the paper to the lid.
Carefully put the lid on and embellish how YOU want...
(pictures, stickers, etc.)
I decided to leave my plain.
A button glued to the top serves as a place to secure the tassel without causing damage.
Along with some pictures, high school memorabilia, and of course some tasty food, I think this will be a great addition to my daughter's graduation party!
This is such a cute idea! I'm going to pass it on to others with graduates. Congratulations to your daughter--and to your whole family too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vikki! It's bittersweet...so proud of her, but... she'll be heading off to college this fall.
