ReplyDeleteChickens can keep themselves warm. The heat of summer is actually harder on a chicken than the cold of winter. Daisy, are you going to keep chickens on your homestead? ;-)
DeleteOh my goodness I never knew about the wood ash for dust bathing. We have a fireplace that we use frequently so this will be perfect Lori! I always put the water inside too and your right about moisture. I have spilled it before and had to change the bedding. Great article!
