A Morning Of Pickin' Equals A Full Day Of Meals

I like to do my pickin' in the early morning before it gets so hot.

This morning's harvest is going to help provide our meals for the day...

Lettuce and tomatoes for a lunch salad.

Green beans mixed with taters and bacon will be supper.

Every morning brings an abundance of zucchini.
Even enough to share with the chickens right there on the spot.

I'm hoping to make some freezer pickles with the cucumbers soon.

What are you pickin' these days?

  2. What a great harvest! I love your crate too. I found an old Pepsi crate at a salvage not too long ago, and I just need to clean it up a bit and use it. :)

  3. Hi Lori, Do you know how to keep the cucumbers plants from getting yellow spots on the leaves?

    1. I use a product called Sevin Dust for insects. Also if possible give the plants something to 'climb' or put straw under and around the plant. Hope one of those works for you.

  4. Looks like you have a nice garden! I finally have a few tomatoes to pick, but we didn't get anything else planted due to all the rains.

    1. Our pepper plants aren't doing well this year. You're right, it is hard working in the garden when it's sooooo hot. But aahhh the harvest.
