At our recent Chick Photo Shoot at LL Farm, we had our own controversy.
Take a look...
Although a beautiful yellow ball of fluff right now, this beauty will grow into a WHITE rock chicken.
Will she need to go to the hair salon for this change?
Not concerned about her color, she loved posing for the camera. Just look at that pose!
This chick with colors of black, white, and grey will grow into a silver laced chicken.
Her feathers will grow into a beautiful lace looking ball gown, crowning her a Princess name of course.
Although royalty, she enjoyed striking a few poses for the camera.
Marked with many colors, this chicken will remain similar in her looks.
What she lacks in outward beauty, she more than makes up for with inward beauty...
she will lay BLUE eggs.
She is an Ameraucana , with such a sweet disposition, patiently posing.
I had such fun taking these pictures (maybe too much) that I am thinking of making large prints or having them made into canvas prints.
I think they will make beautiful wall art in our home! (smile)
Best pics ever! Wendy J
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteHi Lori, these are absolutely adorable. What a cute idea. I especially like the one in the teacup. You should offer prints of these on your blog. They really look professional. I hope your Monday is off to a great start. Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. Your kind words mean a lot to me. The chicks were just a couple days old, so it was fairly easy to capture their sweetness. I am by no means a professional photographer...
DeleteThe girls and I couldn't help but giggle at the chicks driving the car! Oh my word the cuteness! Agreed it does make Monday much sweeter! Thank you for sharing LL! Oh, and the blue laced chick in the first photo, you can tell she knows she's cute! Can't wait to see what she looks like when she's all grown! ~CB
ReplyDeleteCB, Let your girls know that is a Barbie convertible ;-) Yes, I agree they know they are cute! It was fun putting this together...glad you got a giggle from it!

ReplyDeleteThese are precious. Makes me smile just looking at them. Thanks for posting the pictures, makes Monday morning much sweeter. I think they would make great wall art as well. Cherry G.
Glad you are having a sweet Monday Cherry and that these chicks can help to make you smile (and maybe giggle too). Thank you for agreeing that one will make good wall art ;-)

This is beyond adorable...all of the pics are so cute....but I love one in the teacup where the chick is down in it and you just see it's eyes up...Precious!!! Sure made me smile!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it made you smile Cathy. I think the one in the teacup that you barely see looks like a chipmunk ;-)
DeleteLori
Oh my cutest pictures ever. I would love to have a copy of the one in the bowl and the ones driving. Please say you will offer these for sale.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Debby! I will look into how to make these available for sale. Thank you for your interest.

This has got to be one of the cutest set of photos I have ever seen! Oh my goodness, they're precious :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Rue! I had fun taking the pictures...so glad you like ;-)
DeleteOh my goodness! So cute! It looks like your subjects really enjoyed it! Thanks for visiting us with your cheerful post. ;0D
ReplyDeleteBecause the chics are so young, they couldn't get away too fast ;-) The Ameraucana was the best at staying where I put her.
DeleteOh my - they're adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos!
Thank you!
DeleteLori, oh my word! i hope you're prepared for these pictures to go viral because they are THE cutest thing I've seen all week. I swear these shots could be postcards. They're amazing! Thanks so much for linking these up to our Something to Talk About Link Party. They made my day. Hugs, Coco
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet compliments CoCo. I actually made a couple into cards today to send out for upcoming birthdays. It was a fun photo shoot and the chicks are growing so fast...glad I did it then.
DeleteLori
Oh my gosh...soooooooo sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Martina!
DeleteSweet memories, thank you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the little one peeking out of the teacup followed close by the two cruising in their convertible.
Thanks Gayle. The convertible is a Barbie jeep...it was collecting dust in the basement (my girls don't play Barbie's anymore). The chic in the teacup was the easiest to photo!
DeleteLori
Oh my gosh...I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam!
DeleteThese are adorable! I bet you had so much fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd, these pictures will cause much less controversy than those pesky dresses...
It truly was fun taking these pictures. I think the chicks enjoyed it too ;-)
DeleteOh my goodness! This is the cutest thing ever. Really love the sassy leg kick of the little chick up top. I'll share these with my kids who will then ask for chicks. :) Thank you for linking up with Little Things Thursday today! Glad to have you!
ReplyDeleteI think that chick knew she had the perfect pose ;-) Hope your kids enjoy the photos.
DeleteOh my goodness! These are the most precious pictures! How fun indeed! And I just couldn't handle the chicks in the car :) Thank you for sharing these with us on the Art of Home-Making Mondays Lori!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jes!
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS, yes I enjoyed the chick photo shoot! Adorable! I have a soft spot in my heart for baby chicks, both of my grandmothers raised chickens, and baby chick time was always my very favorite time! Thank you for putting a smile on my face with your wonderful photography and adorable chicks!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Feathered Nest Friday.
Gina
I am glad it put a smile on your face Gina! Sounds like wonderful times you had with your Grandmothers...I got White Rock chickens this time because I remember my Grandma having them ;-)
DeleteLori
this is absolutely gorgeous! love it! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jandi.
DeleteThose are the cutest pictures ever! I can't decide which is my favorite! What fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. For the most part, they were good little posers ;-)
DeleteWonderfully inspiring! I take (try) to take a lot of chicken photographs (as well as our Lab Sassy) am I know first hand how difficult it is to get a good image of a moving object. These are outstanding, in my book. I get some new chicks on April 20 and you have inspired me to try to take few pictures of my Rhode Island Red babies. I am assuming you fed them so they were full and comfortable and then posed them? I can't believe how still they stood for you! Donna at the Small House Homestead. http://smallhousebigskyhomestead.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteDonna,
DeleteThe chicks were only a few days old when I took the photos, so it was fairly easy to get them to pose (one more than the others). I took quite a few shots, then went through them on my computer, choosing the best ones. Have fun with your chicks when you get them ;-)
Lori
Thaank you for your reply. Would you mind sharing more or maybe even creating a post about how you photographed your chicks in the setting? I'm interested in your camera, lens, setting, flash no flash (I'm assuming no flash since there are no shadows) whether you uses a bounce light or natural lighting, And you blue cabinet in the shoot I am assuming it is a chalk painted piece....PLEASE share and thank you in advance!! I use a digital Cannon Rebel and have a wide angle and a telephoto lens. Donna at the Small House Homestead
DeleteWow Donna, you have a lot more equipment then I do. I have a Canon Power Shot SX150IS. That's it...nothing else. I will send you an email with some suggestions.
DeleteLori
PS-The cabinet is an old bookshelf that I 'dry painted' with some extra wall paint that I had.
Hi! Dropping by from Sundaes and Spaghetti Ideabox Linkies #109 #110. Ohmygosh they're so cuuuuute! I want chicks too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Hanniz. You should get chickens ;-)
DeleteLori

ReplyDeletehugs,

Thanks Jann. It was a lot of fun taking these photos. They are growing so fast...they probably wouldn't be so willing to pose now ;-)
