Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli

Let me start by saying that in the world of cooking,
I think garlic and ginger should get married and have kids!

The powerful combination is DELICIOUS!

I have made a similar recipe like this on the stove top, but I must say that allowing the beef to become saturated with this enticing sauce while cooking in the crock pot is genius!

I like to use a garlic press  for recipes like this.  You don't want to bite into chunks of garlic, but you definitely want that garlic flavor.

Recipe for Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli

2 pounds round steak, sliced thin
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground ginger
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
2 bunches fresh broccoli, cut up

  1. In the insert of the crock pot, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Place beef slices in the liquid, and gently toss to coat.
  3. Put lid on crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours.
  4. When meat is done, whisk together cornstarch and water in small bowl.  Add to crockpot mixture.
  5. Gently stir in broccoli.
  6. Cover with lid and cook for 30 minutes to cook broccoli and thicken sauce.

It taste great with white rice.

  1. This sounds excellent. I haven't made this in a crock pot, but will now. Thanks for sharing this.

  2. That looks so wonderful...and satisfying. Thank you for sharing. Stay Warm.
Are you all getting any snow out of Friday Storm? We could get up to a foot.

  3. I've never made a "stir-fry" type recipe in the crockpot... but this sounds really great! I love finding new recipes that can take care of themselves all day and be ready in time for dinner :) Have a blessed day!

  4. I make this exact same recipe minus the ginger (only because the kids don't care for it) thanks for sharing on Rattlebridge Farm.

  5. This looks so delicious - I think I need a garlic press though! Have a great day!

  6. Oh, Yum!! One of my favorite Asian dishes!!

  7. I made something similar last week, but I must admit it really didn't turn out! I'm not sure what happened, but I may have cooked it way too long. The meat had fallen apart too much and was in teeny tiny pieces. Time to try your recipe because it looks like it turned out perfectly!
