Blogger Award

I am the winner of a blog award

One of the best things about blogging is the people that I have met!

I have 'met' some amazing bloggers and readers of blogs.

I would not have had the opportunity to meet you if it were not for my little blog that I started a little over a year ago.  Reading comments and emails from you truly brighten my day!

I was recently nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award from Susan at the blog Of Every Moment.  Susan writes on a variety of topics while making the most of every moment!  What a statement, huh?  I have learned a lot from her and hope you visit her, if you've not had the pleasure to do so yet.

The goal of this award is to learn a little more about our fellow bloggers.  I enjoyed reading Susan's answers and learning more tid bits about her. The nominator asks ten question to which the nominee responds.  The award is then passed on to other bloggers with ten questions.

These are the questions that Susan posed to me (my answers are in red):

1. Is there a piece of writing of which you are most proud?
The posts that I am most proud of are the ones that inspire others to try something.

 2. What is the most difficult thing for you about blogging?
I strive to post about things that I am passionate about and that I hope will interest others.  I don't want to just type words.

 3. What is your favorite holiday tradition (any holiday).
We have been hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at our home for a few years now, and I truly enjoy that.  I also enjoy family cook-outs that my aunts have in warmer months.

 4. What is the thing you like least to cook? Why?
Well, I love to cook and try new recipes, so I'll try anything once.

 5. If you could take one more college course, what would it be?
I had a sign language course in college and I really enjoyed it.  I think it would be neat to become fluent in sign language (and use it).

 6. If we end up sending people to Mars, would you go? (Why or why not?)
Not the first time.  Tell me personally what it's like, and we'll talk about it.

 7. If, like Alice (in Wonderland) you came across a vial of something that said "Drink Me" - what affect would you hope that it would have?
To lose weight, of course.

 8. What is your favorite room in your house? Why?
I love our great room (living, kitchen, and eating area) in our home.  It's where life happens everyday!

 9. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be?
Ha!  I change things all the time...I don't really blog about one thing...I'm all over the place...homesteading, home decor, recipes, DIY, and everything in between.

10. Which would you choose:
A. become fluent in another language (one you don't already know).
B. be able to play a musical instrument (one you can't already play).
I would like to learn how to play the piano.

In choosing who I wanted to nominate, I chose some blogging friends that faithfully visit and leave comments for me.  Having this connection with them has helped me to learn from them, as well as get to know them.  I look forward to reading their answers!  I hope you visit them also...you won't be disappointed.

Whom I nominate:
Vickie from Vickie's Kitchen and Garden
Daisy from My Maple Hill Farm
Kimberly from Kim Ridge Farm

My questions for you are the same fantastic ones that Susan asked me:

1. Is there a piece of writing of which you are most proud?

 2. What is the most difficult thing for you about blogging?

 3. What is your favorite holiday tradition (any holiday).

 4. What is the thing you like least to cook? Why?

 5. If you could take one more college course, what would it be?

 6. If we end up sending people to Mars, would you go? (Why or why not?)

 7. If, like Alice (in Wonderland) you came across a vial of something that said "Drink Me" - what affect would you hope that it would have?

 8. What is your favorite room in your house? Why?

 9. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be?

10. Which would you choose:
A. become fluent in another language (one you don't already know).
B. be able to play a musical instrument (one you can't already play).

  1. I loved reading your answers, Lori Leigh! I have had a busy month and I've taken some time off of blogging, but I am looking forward to getting caught up with your posts -and visiting your nominees! Happy Thanksgiving!
