A sweet nut.
No, I'm not talking about you!
You sweet thing...you're just a nut.
;-)
I'm talking about cinnamon sugared almonds.
I've had these (expensive!) almonds at fairs and such.
I figured there had to be an easy way to make them at home...
Easy indeed!
almonds
sugar
cinnaomon
water
That's all you need!
And 15 minutes of constantly stirring.
After a quick cool down, you can start popping these babies in your mouth.
But, be warned...they are addictive!
Here's the recipe:
Cinnamon Sugared Almonds
2 cups whole almonds
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat.
Continually stir until the liquid has evaporated, leaving a sticky coating on the almonds.
This should take approximately 15 minutes.
Pour almonds on to a wax lined baking sheet and allow to cool.
15 minutes of stirring, wow, not bad! These are indeed addicting. I want to make these, my husband would love them! Thanks for sharing the recipe :)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! When I realized how easy they were to make, I wanted to shout it to the world ;-)
DeleteOne of our new neighbors brought some of these made with pecans and oh my gosh, they did not last long!
ReplyDeleteI may have to try this recipe! Thank you!
How nice of your neighbor. No, they did not last long here either ;-)
DeleteThis sounds delicious! Thanks for doing all the testing for a great recipe for us.
ReplyDeleteWell, well... it was a lot of work testing this recipe. I can't even tell you how long they should last in a sealed container, because, well, they didn't last. ;-)
DeleteI'm glad you were able to take a picture before the nuts disappeared! They sound so good and easy to make. Thanks for the recipe.
