DIY Fall Art (using scrap book materials)

I like creating little pieces of  'art' for my seasonal decorating.

Adding little punches here and there, without spending a lot of money...that's my style.

I recently purchased a 12x12 frame for half off the original price.
That's the only investment I have in this project.  And I will use this frame over and over again, making it well worth the $10 that I paid for it.  ;-)

I have a stash of scrapbook paper in my basement that I have acquired over the years.
I would buy plain, patterned, seasonal, vacation destinations, etc. as they came on sale.

When my girls were younger, a group of my friends and I would get together and scrapbook.
As our children have grown, we don't do it as often as we used to.
Ha Ha on us - we used to think that we would have more time to scrapbook when our children were older...why does it seem we have less time?

Even if you don't scrapbook, you can easily pull this together.

All you need is :
  • 12x12 frame (perfect for 12x12 size scrapbook paper)
  • scrapbook paper - one 12 x12 with a border design and one coordinating solid color (always keep your scraps)
  • 5x7 picture - use a favorite picture that you have taken - nature, animals, family...make it personal.  (I printed mine on my home printer.)
  • glue stick
  • scissors - most people can cut a straight line, however I am not one of those people!  I use a scrapbooking trimmer.

Placing my picture in the corner of the orange paper,  I marked and cut a one inch border.
I glued the picture onto the orange 'mat'.
Then glued the matted picture onto the 12x12 paper.
Put it in the frame and voila...
DIY Fall Art

Not much, but a little something...

P.S.  I took the baby chick photo back in the Spring when our chickens were just a few days old.

P.P.S.  I took some with Christmas decor too...stay tuned...

P.P.S.S.  Think I'm crazy for pulling out Fall and Christmas decor in the Spring?
Or, do you think I'm totally crazy for posing my baby chicks?
